Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which players will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
